Regina General Hospital is one of two major hospitals in the Regina area and has an extensive history of helping and innovating institutional health care for southern Saskatchewan. The Regina General has grown quite substantially since its opening in 1901 when it was known as the Victoria Hospital. The staff at Regina General is trained in many specialty areas like; cardio sciences, neurosciences and trauma care. Also Regina General is the home to technological advanced medical and diagnostic equipment. Two examples of the diagnostic technology available to patients at Regina General are the Computed Tomography (CT) and the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). There have been many new renovations to the facilities that have opened up more space for new programs and services to help meet the health care needs for the future.
