This is one of the most popular stops for visitors to the city. In 1885, Regina was chosen to be the headquarters of the Royal North-West Mounted Police (the RCMP'S predecessor) – then in 1920 "the Force" became a national body and moved its headquarters in Ottawa. However, the only training academy is still located in Regina.
Tour the grounds of the Mounties’ training academy – you might be able to se cadets going through their daily training rigors. The museum helps you learn about the history of the RCMP and its role in early Canadian history up through today.

Guided tours are available each day at 1:30pm. A tour will take you to the oldest building in Regina: the nondenominational chapel, which was first the cookhouse, built in 1883. You’ll also want to make sure you make time for the Sergeant Major’s Parade, held every day at 12:45pm on the parade square immediately in front of the museum. (In winter and in inclement weather, the parade takes place in the Drill Hall.)
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police National Training Academy is on the western perimeter of the city, at 11th Avenue West.
